Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal Tobalá is a small-batch mezcal produced in the remote village of Santa Maria Albarradas in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is made from wild Tobalá agave, a rare and slow-growing variety that thrives in the high mountain canyons of the region. Because Tobalá agave takes many years to mature and yields limited quantities, this expression is produced in very small amounts.

The mezcal is crafted using traditional methods that reflect centuries of Oaxacan mezcal production. Mature agave hearts are roasted in underground earthen pits lined with hot stones and covered with earth, a process that develops the spirit’s signature smoky character. After roasting, the agave is crushed using a traditional stone tahona wheel, fermented naturally in open wooden vats with ambient wild yeast, and then distilled in small copper pot stills.

Del Maguey’s Single Village series highlights the unique traditions of individual mezcal-producing communities. Each expression is produced by a specific family of mezcaleros in a single village using local agave and traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations.

This mezcal is bottled at approximately 45% ABV and reflects the artisanal production style and regional heritage of Santa Maria Albarradas.
