The Raphael La Fontana is the estate’s signature Bordeaux-style blend, crafted to showcase the harmony between the noble red grapes grown on their Peconic property. Usually led by a strong core of Merlot, it’s rounded out with varying amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. This wine is all about texture and "old-school" balance, favoring earthy complexity over the high-alcohol, fruit-bomb style often found in warmer climates.

On the nose, La Fontana is layered and savory, opening up with dark plum, blackberry, and a distinct hint of dried herbs. Because it spends significant time aging in French oak, you’ll also pick up notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied with firm but well-integrated tannins that give it a sturdy, "food-friendly" backbone. The finish is long and dry, with a lingering trail of dark fruit and stony minerality.
